We are Hiring Charge RNs at Mary & Elizabeth! – Adult Chemical Dependency Unit, 3B
Location: 1850 Bluegrass Ave. Louisville, KY 40215
Shift: 7p-7a, Fulltime

Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, part of UofL Health, is a 298-bed, full-service hospital. The hospital offers a full range of orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, surgical, vascular, behavioral health, rehabilitative and 24/7 emergency services. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is home to the University of Louisville School of Medicine’s Family Medicine residency training program. The hospital has received DNV Certification in the areas of Shoulder Surgery and Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery. It also been recognized as one of the first health care facilities in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction® Center for bariatric surgery. The hospital was initially founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874.. Job Summary
The Charge RN is accountable for the daily patient care operations of the assigned department, working under the direction of the Nurse Manager on assigned shifts. Responsible for daily patient care assignments, maintaining clinical standards of care, maintaining labor productivity and supervision of the patient care environment; supporting the care team. Supports the activities of the Nurse Manager. Maintains positive inter- and intra-departmental relationships. Directs patient throughput activities in the assigned unit. Maintains evidence-based nursing practices to achieve desirable patient outcomes in accordance with the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act.
Provides direct supervision of personnel practicing on Nursing Units, makes patient care assignments, evaluates assignments, facilitates patient throughput, and directly observes staff performance on assigned shift.

- Age 18+
- Alcohol and drug detox unit with patients that have mental health diagnoses
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kentucky Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.
- BLS required from American Heart Association.
- Associate Degree from accredited nursing program
- Ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training and successful completion during new hire orientation.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
- Two years of patient care experience in specialty area
